Interesting.....But Not Important...."Just the Facts Mam"

I am full of useless tid bits of information.  I call these tid bits (are you ready)..."JUNK INFO".

My pea brain is full of the kind of information pretty much everyone could live without....

When I was young(er) (this is important and explains a lot) I used to be able to remember most things, I could rattle off what I'd read....(again, most importantly)...back it up with where I'd learned it.  (Phew!  People that's one heck of a run-on sentence..!  Isn't it?

My English teacher, Mrs. Crowe, would have hung me up by my thumbs right about now...  Where was I?

OK, so I'll start this useless thread of useless information.  I'll limit it to one right now...

This is something I just saw on "Henry Ford's Innovation Nation".  This is a kids show that comes on every Saturday morning.  I DVR it because....Well who in the heck gets up at 10:00(that's AM) in the morning?  Not I (Sorry Mrs. Crow...wrong pronoun?).

OK, ready.... Maybe this should fall under "What are the odds".

I'd just finished eating an English muffin (I only eat Thomas' English muffins...they're the best in my book).  While watching the above referenced TV show, Mo comes on with a question followed by (you guessed it) the answer.  This particular question was about...(you wanna guess)...English muffins...See what I mean?

So, here (I know...I rattle on and ....where was I?) Oh!  I remember....Are you still here?

Who invented the English Muffin?  (I'll count down the clock)....one....two...OK, I'll give you the answer...

It was actually a man named...Samuel Bath Thomas.  Mr. Thomas brought over a version from England.  He added this and that and devised it so when we split it we have the beloved crooks we all love to sink that jelly and butter into.

This was around 1880 and were called Toaster Crumpets.  In 1894 he began to call them English Muffins.  Sold in England, they're called....American Muffins...

So, now you know some of the errrrr...stuff...going on in my head.

I'd like to know what (useless or otherwise) information is in your noggin'.  Just one little tidbit is fine.,,''

I find useless facts fascinating.  I get this need for information from my Dad.  He instilled in me what a fascinating world we live in and even more fascinating are the people who live in it.

Come on...I'm here and ready to read....  Hurry or I'll post more useless information.....

Re: Interesting.....But Not Important...."Just the Facts Mam"

I never remember to turn the TV on to Henry Ford's Innovation Nation on Saturday's. So I signed up for their emails. So many interesting things going on in Greenfield Village and the Ford Plant.

I binge watch the shows every once in awhile.

Thanks for telling me about Mr. Thomas and his muffins. I know - we only eat Thomas' English muffins too.
