The time on the clock does not change the number of hours of sunlight.

@In-x-s     No..........but it gets dark  an hour earlier on standard time.   It's the BLAZING SUN that can kill you around here.    It's not so bad if the SUN isn't beating on your head while your grilling your steak on the outdoor bar-be-que............

LOL thank you for clarifying.  I'm in the upper midwest and I prefer the change to daylight saving time.  If it stayed as standard time here it would be light at 4:30 a.m. and be dark by 8 p.m. during peak summer months.  I much prefer the light later in the evenings when I;m able to enjoy it.  Our temps rarely get up into the 90s even in the summer months.

@In-x-s     We do most of our outdoor "chores" (gardening, etc.) in the early morning hours.  The hottest time of day is between 4 and 5 pm.

We don't move clocks here. It really messes with small children.

@ciao_bella   That's really interesting info. I do know whenever there's a time change, I'm messed up for days.

I'm fairly regimented and it takes awhile to adjust.

Re: Interesting Bit of Information About Daylight Saving Time

People forget that in 1974 we tried staying on daylight saving, and they were a lot of complaints. Kids were in school when it was still dark outside in the morning and people were driving to work in the dark. It didn’t work.

When they tried Daylight Savings in the middle of winter during the early 1970's, 8 children were hit by cars going to school in the morning.  Aterwards they dropped it.

Did not know that @bikerbabe .... I don't really mind the time changes but the topic is interesting imho.
