Wow!  What a road trip that would be.  We are adventurous, but not that much.  My dh &  I are leaving on a two weeks road trip next week from S. WI to KY, TN, AR, MO , LA.  We have done this a few years in a row and enjoy it.

@Kachina624 That's a road trip on "roids!" I remember road trips with my parents, one in particular. We went from Oregon coast (where we lived) across the U.S. to D.C. then down through Virginia and various southern states, across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and up the California coast back to our home in Oregon. Too lazy to calculate total mileage for it but it was long. 

Twenty plus years ago, I took a road trip with a friend.  starting in Phoenix then north through Utah, Idaho across Washington, down through Oregon and California and back to PHX. 

"Your" trip through South America would be so interesting. Afraid at my age my body would not be happy sitting in a car for thousands of miles, and I don't have anyone who would want to travel by car.The longest road trip I've taken in the past 10 or so years was PHX to San Francisco.

@laluzdelmundo.  I've taken some epic road trips too, many across the US when my sister and I were kids.  Back in those days there was no AC in cars.  I don't know how we stood it.

@Kachina624 Yep, no AC, and my parents smoked. Also would sometimes get car sick (sitting in back seat) so my mother always brought a big coffee can for **** (you know what!)
