Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer

[ Edited ]

Yesterday, I watched and taped the presentation with the vendor Marc Gill (I think that was his name).  Anyway, he made a boneless prime rib roast and I got confused with his instructions.  He said to cook it for 35-40 minutes. I don't believe he mentioned what temp to set the air fryer at nor what function to use.  I watched the presentation over and over and still don't know.  Watched a You Tube presentaton and the person (Drunken Butcher) was cooking a 4 lb. rib roast.  He set the AF at 375 degrees for 30 minutes and lowered the temp to 300 for 30 minutes.  It was overcooked for med rare.  He mentioned that was too long, but to check every 10 minutes to see what temp the meat was at.  His revised instructions are posted on line.  My question:  have any of you cooked a boneless rib roast in that machine and what time/temp did you use.  Or perhaps you really caught his instructions when the unit was being demonstrated.

Re: Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer

No I have never cooked a prime rib in the airfryer. I do have an airfryer  by Instant Pot but not the TSV one. Maybe go to Instant Pot"s website and maybe chat with them if they have live chat. I have cooked a turkey breast in mine that was amazing.

Re: Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer

@coffee drinker  I do not have that particular model of vortex air fryer but I have used my vortex air fryer for steaks, roasts, turkeys you name it.  I just google the meat I want to cook in my model of air fryer,  find a recipe that sounds good and roll with it.  Never had anything be undercooked or overcooked.  I do use a meat thermometer just to be certain but everything I've ever done in that thing comes out juicy and tender.
