None of the above.

We make Melitta drip coffee, and have for decades.  We get small ground coffee or grind it ourselves, place the Melitta cone over a mug with a paper coffee filter inside, add coffee, pour hot water over the coffee, done in about a minute, fresh as can be.

We use a small coffee roaster business not far from where we live, and often I experiment with other brands for fun.

coffee

That would be perfect for my mom who only drinks about a cup a day @Noel7. She loves my husbands coffee maker but if he isn't home and she is here, I honestly don't know how to work the thing. She will be moving in shortly so I guess it is time I take a class from my husband on how to use this beast.

Good idea @Irshgrl31201  Perfect for just one cup at a time, no waste, a lot of flavor.

There are somewhat fancy cones available, like the one pictured above, or you can just go with a plastic one available at neighborhood coffee vendors.  Amazon sells basic cones and different size filters.  We use a size 4 for a single mug.

Re: Instant Coffee or Brewed Coffee?

It's brewed coffee or nothing.  I used to keep Folgers instant in the cabinet for emergencies but I stopped doing that years ago.  If I run out of coffee, I just do out by some.  I've even had a restaurant breakfast delivered....just for the coffee.  I'm addicted.

The pitcher is just part of one of the many sets people can buy.  The cone and paper filter are all that's needed.  Plus coffee and your favorite mug, of course.

Re: Instant Coffee or Brewed Coffee?

When we were in Cancun, every morning there was a large cooper pot of coffee out on the veranda.   They had a continental breakfast set up - it was overlooking the pools and the ocean.  I digress

There was a low flame under the kettle.  You ladeled  the fresh, hot coffee into your cup.  It was THE best coffee I have ever had.  Nothing compared to that coffee.

Brewed ... hot or iced ... with flavored Coffee Mate!

(I have a large iced sitting next to me at the moment w/Creme Brulee Coffee Mate.)

@Noel7, I used Melitta drip for many years. It makes excellent coffee.

Brewed and black. No creamers.
