I'd rather note the fact that the thread has gone off topic into controversial and political territory than engage in it. No one needs to apologize to me for anything. You are all adults and as long as QVC supports what you have to say here, have at it.

Our community thought as you did, namely, get mental health professionals involved.

There are many hurdles to overcome. It's a very difficult path and often comes down to the individual taking themselves for treatment. 
As you likely know, a community can't just say a certain individual is a "problem" and expect to have it taken care of.

Privacy issues, etc.,etc.
