Inquiry about prices on clothing

I tune in and watch QVC and HSN for a very short time, mostly on my way to another channel.  I cannot help but notice the prices of clothing, what I would consider on the high side.  I am a shopper than buys for style, color and fit.  I buy online and my items are low priced compared to the Q.  I also buy at Walmart or anyone having a deep discounted sale. The clothing offered at the Q seem soooo high in price.  Is the fabric or the design or anything about the product worth a $40-$70 price tag?  Will they last longer, are they better qualiy based on the price?  Curious what you think expecially those of you who buy clothing from the Q.

Re: Inquiry about prices on clothing

@bonnielu   I buy a lot of Barefoot Dreams because I love their items and QVC has the lowest prices.  Many times it includes free shipping, so that helps out too.  I also get A LOT of Isaac pima shirts and cardigans and scarves, and buy them usually when they are a Lunchtime Special or "as-is".  I rarely buy anything at regular price.

I just posted about a $10 coupon for HSN that was on facebook, if there is anything from HSN that you are interested in. code 189026

@bonnielu @I get sucked (or suckered) into Easy Pay every time. I would never pay such high prices if I didn't see the low Easy Pay monthly prices. Even though I know I'm doing this, I still fall for it.

Re: Inquiry about prices on clothing

@bonnielu Depends on what clothing lines you are speaking about.  Some are worth the price and some are not.  It's all a matter of opinion.  I don't buy clothing at Walmart; even though it's a lower price, I don't feel the quality is there.  I'd rather invest more for unique style items that hold up well.

I have no problem with QVC prices.  I think the clothing prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent.

Re: Inquiry about prices on clothing

I don't wear probably 90% of the kind of clothes that QVC sells.

From QVC - most of what I buy comes from Lunchtime specials, and generally I buy styles that aren't available elsewhere .. Attitudes and Tolani tops, and LOGO and WWC pants.

I get most of my clothes elsewhere. I'm a fan of Land's End and Blair, and occasionally Chico's - they sell the kind of clothes I wear .. and also have great sales.

I know they sell everything known to man but it's all over priced

IMO.

Its TV sales.... which can be boredom,  or a plethora of things in one's mind, late at night or day.

Whatever it is it seems to work.   But over priced? Absolutely.

Charging for returns is also  crazy  and the time it takes for an item to be delivered.

Re: Inquiry about prices on clothing

I have posted so many times my purchasing policy. I never pay full price. I prefer Lunchtime Specials, they are usually the best price. I also shop a lot of As Is. I thoroughly read reviews and determine my correct size, the fabric, the care of the fabric and how often I will wear it. Then, if the price is right with good reviews, I will purchase.

I like a little something "extra" in my attire. Maybe a little lace, or chiffon, or some kind of twist to the average. I have worn primarily QVC and HSN attire when I worked at the schools and was voted time and again as the best dressed staff member. I also believe it's how you wear your clothing. Wearing it with confidence and a good attitude make a huge difference.

So yes, if the price is right for you and you wear it proudly, then it's a good deal.

I will add to  my post that I do look for Clearance and AS IS items.  I just am not sure about full price since I can find really nice things elsewhere with great looks.  I cannot speak to quality since I have a big collection and make lots of different choices daily. Nothing I wear all that long.  I really should declutter.
