In reference to bullies in school

My DGS is in 2nd grade and he got a new little boy in his class yesterday. The boy had a major temper tantrum in class, he pushed a computer to the floor and stomped on the keyboard, threw a chair against the glass window, pulled down wall decor and screamed profanities. They took him to the councilors office to calm down and they put him back in class. My DGS hid under his desk so he wouldn't get hurt. When he told me about this, my gut reaction was to call the school and to find out what they plan to do about this poor little boy but then I thought what IS going to happen to this little boy. I don't want my DGS to be subjected to the meltdowns, I m afraid he or someone else might get hurt. This was only day 2. I don't know what to do, I'm concerned about my GS and about that other child who desperately needs help. Any feedback would be appreciated. TIA
