@Magny wrote:We gave away our manufacturing to other countries for the cheaper costs, so both our factories & our workers became obsolete. Those were jobs for people without a higher education but with skills. It would take a long time to retool now, & we’ve gotten used to the lower prices.
@Magny That’s right. Huge factories were turned into condos and stores.

Would you be kind enough to place the country of origin on your item page instead of imported. Our Country is going through so much sadness and discord. Please try to buy USA made products. Ive been with you for decades and have purchased computers, matresses, clothes, shoes, makeup, hair products, sheets, towels, food, books holiday items, Electroics, jewelry and handbags. i want to do my part for America. I'm not political just a mom and grandmother asking you to speak to all of your venders and maybe we can get a few of them to pay American Workers to get our Country up and running again. =^.^=
If you post your request in the Suggestion Box category, you might have a better chance of someone at QVC actually reading it. Just a thought.

The investigation is proceeding. This whole thing is evolving. All of the juries are out.

@Kitt2 A weekly show of just made in America products would be great.

people will still complain.......too expensive, they dont like the product, shipping fees are too high, quality is not good, they can find the item elsewhere for a less expensive price......that is usually how it goes.

Our companies didn't go to China because they wanted to save money for consumers. It was because they wanted to make more money using cheap labor.

@sunshine45 Yes. Look at posts on the board just today. Prices too high. I wouldn't pay that much for that. Highway robbery, etc.etc.etc.

@Kachina624 wrote:There suddenly seems to be a strange prejudice against Chinese-made goods. So why would QVC want to advertise the fact that an item is made there? There are limited facilities for manufacturing in the US and no workforce willing or able to do that kind of work so there's no choice but to sell many imported items.
If you're unwilling to buy Asian-made goods, I hope you don't need a new TV, cell phone, computer or kitchen appliance. You'll also have a very limited wardrobe.
Also, don't forget that China buys many products made or grown in the USA. I wonder if they're running around proposing not to buy American-made?
A sudden prejudice against Chinese made goods? Speaking for myself, I think their quality is lousy, nothing new there. They've had issues for years, from the ****** tires to the tainted baby formula, to the poisoned dog food. Sure, lots of time we don't have a choice & are stuck buying their subpar merchandise. But if there is a choice between something made in China vs Germany or Switzerland, there is no question the Chinese "quality" would be WAY lower...cheaper true, but you get what you pay for.

Yes...It would be awesome. I remember quite a few years ago seeing future venders on the Q selling their products to the viewers. I'm sure they were made in the USA. Thanks everyone. It was very interesting to see the comments from the posts. I'll keep looking and hoping for more USA products on this network.

China is like the USA in that they manufacture many products at many different price points (that includes items of impeccable workmanship as well as shoddy merchandise). I get why those of you that want only "our"products do but don't paint with a broad brush because China does make some great stuff (visit China, you might change your mind ).
