An 11 Ft. Burmese python was caught a mile offshore swimming in the ocean at Biscayne Park near Miami.

We live in Florida .. and this has become a real problem over in
the Miami area ...especaily in the Everglades .... we have a

hunting season on them once a year .....this is what happens

when someone gets  them as a pet ....2 feet long and when they

reach 10 feet long find they cannot handle them anymore as a

pet and let them loose ....and believe me they get much larger

than this .....

Girl, I would have broke all of Michael Phelps records.

Some pythons are gorgeous to look at --  in cages!

They're gorgeous to look at as shoes, handbags, belts, wallets etc.  Heavens! Who in their right mind would want to swim in that water with sharks and the rest of the wildlife plus the garbage?  Pools look better all the time.

Every year i go down to Fl. in the late winter or early sping.  On the news they show gators going into pools, around homes etc.!  So one still needs to look well before they jump in.

I've swum in the waters off Key Biscayne.  Does that mean I might have met up with the likes of that?  But that was way back in the Fall of 1972.  Maybe those beasts were not there at that time.

Yet another reason to stay out of Florida.
