I do not agree with that part of your statement. While my health could certainly be worse at the moment, it has been severely so in the recent past.

That did not remove my wife/our furry ones/my family/my friends, and my belief that my life is not really that bad.

I heard that saying many times years ago and thought it might be right. Then I faced many health and skeletal issues with my spine and others parts of my body.

It did not leave me "with nothing", quite the contrary. I left me with more optimism than I already had, along with understanding from a personal perspective how fickle life is and will be.
