I moved here from another country (Italy) and only because my father was recruited to teach at a university.  I liked Italy.  I don't know if my parents would have moved to the U.S. otherwise.  There some benefits in Italy over the U.S.  We have socialized medicine.  It's a very good system and everyone is covered.  Health care is considered a right, not a privilege.  We stayed after my father's death.  And I met my husband here.  So I'm glad we stayed.
