If you had to choose the worst one of the the following to go kaput (to be broken) in your house, which would you choose and why? Which would you most not want to be without, even temporarily? You must stick to just one, or there will be a penalty. :-)
Refrigerator
Oven/stove top
Dishwasher
Other kitchen appliance
Washing machine
Dryer
A/C/Heater
TV
Computer
Water supply
Water heater

Furnace/Air conditioner. Harder and more expensive to replace.

Most definitely, the water supply.

Refridgerator...may not be the most expensive to replace but it is the most needed. Broken refrigerator means more money spent eating out. You can also spend a great deal of money ie. ice in efforts to keep food cold enough so it doesn't spoil.

The stress of having to choose is causing me to hyperventilate so I am going to have to pass on the question.

me too!
I can only do without dishwasher for more than 2 years or more
I mostly just run to clean. Maybe 2 or 3 loads when family was over on a holiday.

Pretty much all would be an issue, but I will say "computer." I would not know how to choose a new one and how to get the data off the old one before it was recycled/trashed. (I would need help from my kids.) Almost all of the other items, I could handle replacement on my own.

This is easy. Water supply.
I can always do without electrical appliances, but need water to live. I can't go without taking a shower and washing my greasy hair at least once a day. I don't have an outhouse and my toilet uses water too.
Can I have my refrigerator too? I guess not
