Grapefruit isn't allowed for patients who take quite a few medications. I suppose it's possible that blood oranges are close to grapefruit but Docs and pharmacists don't make that leap when they counsel patients. Not many people ever think about or eat blood oranges. However, it's ridiculous to think that no one on any prescription medicince should eat them. That makes no sense. I think if you are told that you shouldn't eat grapefruit and you eat blood oranges, you should ask.
