If they have Joan's items, they might as well bring back Paula's.

Don't forget Martha Stuart too.

QVC, it's time for Joan Rivers to go.

Perhaps they never should have stopped selling Paula's products in the first place.

Re: If they have Joan's items, they might as well bring back Paula's.

I find it sad that mature, educated women cannot discern the difference between what Paula Deen did and what Joan Rivers did. These two incidents aren't even related, one being a serious violation of labor law, and the other a comment about a room in a building. When it comes to importance, surely a sensible, objective person, even a Paula Deen fan, can see the difference. In degree of seriousness, they're not even in the same ballpark. I have no idea what Martha has to do with either of the other two women. She was found guilty of violating securities regulations and served a prison sentence and is back in business. So what?

Do you truly believe that by constantly whining "but what about Joan?" you've going to actually lessen the severity of Paula's poor management and violations of the Civil Rights Act? Joan did not denigrate anyone, did not make a single comment about the Cleveland women. She simply noted the size of a room in the house. What pray tell, is so inflammatory about that? Knock off the Paula/Joan comparisons. They do not flatter the power of logic of the people making them.

My sentiments exactly. I don't know why people are lumping all of these women together.

Far and different cases each.

It would be nice if posters would just drop this issue, they aren't going to affect any changes whatsoever, and ought to realize it by now. They don't have the facts straight or understand the circumstances related to each person as it relates to them and their businesses with QVC.

QVC will do as they please, and don't have to satisfy or explain anything to us.

There are contracts here.

I agree, kachina. These comparisons are illogical and ludicrous. I'm not sure why, if we must discuss this so obsessively, we can't talk about one person instead of this attempt to make them all the same (Rivers, or Deen, or Martha-why-is-she-even-in-the-mix).{#emotions_dlg.blink}

kachina624 ~ very informative post and well written. I agree with your analysis and when people try to compare the two ~ they are engaging in false equivalency.

Why sell PD's stuff on QVC when you can get it at Big Lots and Ollie's for cheap ?

And what about all of the product recalls on her merchandise ?

I agree with Kachina's post...well stated, btw.

I think "mature, educated women" could be offended by many things Joan says. It may not be reason enough to "fire" her or discontinue her products but when she said what she said about those 3 gals.... that went too far for me. QVC needs to reign her in a bit.....she goes too far sometimes. Civil Rights or women who were abused. It's all about people. They all have feelings and some of us feel there are other things that deserve to be scrutinized when it comes to the way a shopping channel is run. It's called "good business".
