If there is only land, no homes etc would you stop

and pick a beautiful flower?  I have and I don't think it is wrong when nothing is on the property.........just one or two as I love flowers..........I see them at times on the roads.........

I pick flowers on the side of the road and in empty fields.  I love them too and I'm always on the lookout for lilac bushes growing wild and wild tiger lillies later in the season.

@DowntonAbbey   Yes, I would stop.  It sounds like the flowers are wild and not "planted" by someone of their property.  Even it they were planted, I think they would be okay with your picking a flower.

Oh, Maudelyn, seeing and smelling Lilacs are one of the things I miss the most when I lived in Chicago.

@DowntonAbbey:

Is this in response to the recent UK thing with the little girls and their dad?

Google it if you're interested.

BTW, I think one (or even a few) is OK as long as someone's not trespassing.

No. I would still be trespassing on someone's land that is not mine, and I have no right to the flowers or anything else on the property without the owner's permission to take it.

There are many wild flowers that are on the endangered species list and it is against the law to pick them no matter where they are.

I would not.  I don't even pick flowers from my own gardens; I'd rather see them as Mother Nature intended.  And flowers, especially wild flowers, don't last long in a vase.  Leave them alone for others to enjoy.

ECOLOGICAL REASONS NOT TO PICK
WILDFLOWERS

1.Flowers are more than beautiful structures
that appeal to humans; they exist so the plant
can reproduce itself. Many of the most spec-
tacular blossoms are specially designed to
attract certain pollinating animals. The num-
ber of flowers pollinated combined with their
arraignment of the stem can make a differ-
ence between reproductive success or failure
for the entire year.

2.Removing wildflowers from annuals, plants
that bloom for only one year and then die,
means the seeds of the plant would
have made will not be there for next year’s wild-
flower season.

3. Many species of wildflowers have already
suffered great reduction in numbers over the
last 100 years because of increasing altera-
tions of their habitat.

4. It is often difficult to distinguish between
common, rare and endangered species of
wildflowers. Species that are in danger of
extinction may look abundant to the casual
observer who is possibly looking at one of the
few remaining areas where the plant is located.

It could be city land and our taxes help pay anyway the owners could be passed the children gone out of state someone is not taking care of it and flowers need to be taken care of and I see nothing wrong with it.
