As someone who grew up in the desert and "high desert,"  it will look like that for a couple of weeks and then go back to the original picture.

 

The original picture has its own beauty, as well.

 

I live in the PNW now, and I've always favored lots of green and water everywhere.

 

But I do miss the desert sometimes.  It has its own quiet beauty and charm.

I have lived in Southern Arizona since I was fiveyears old.  Yes, we have goatheads!  Our yard is kept pretty much weed free, however, I remember as a child the goatheads always going through my flip flops.  Ouch!  I love the desert!!
