I can empathize, but at least ours happened in summer.   My DH's lawn mower once threw a pebble that hit an all glass (tempered) door.  I've never seen glass shatter into so many, tiny pieces.  We were picking up fragments for months.

Thank you for your words of compassion.  I am sorry you experienced the same thing, but you know first hand how that glass shatters.  During warm weather months, I am forever running in and out barefoot.  I will have to remember to be careful!

Murphy delights in tormenting me by hiding things.  He makes me look through the same stack of papers multiple times until he allows me to find the one piece that I remembered I had put there . . . and that I really, really need.
