@SandySparkles   Love reading all the responses, but going slightly off topic here.....when I read "pushing broom" I think back of an old song my parents loved.  King Of The Road, when Roger Miller sings 🎶 Two hours of pushing broom...🎶 💙

@Cakers3   I love the intro of the song, too, with the finger snapping.  Heart

Yes, we all had chores. Mostly week-end chores but we were required to make our beds and my sister and I did the dishes after supper. On week-ends, I did the dusting and my sister cleaned the bathroom. We and my brother took turns cleaning the bird cage.

One thing I learned never to say is "I'm

bored". Say that....and there was always more work to be handed out!!!!

@jubilant Welcome!🥰  I chuckled warmly as I read this because assigning additional chores is something my dear mother would sometimes do as well!😁

I think most of us find this "story" a bit odd and unbelievable!

@Cakers3   Wow!  A 7 yr. old that can iron. That's pretty impressive. I learned to iron at a fairly young age. When I had young children and we had just moved, a new neighbor asked me if I could iron. She brought over a white business shirt of her husbands and had me iron it. I did and she hired me to iron his shirts. One week I ironed 17 shirts and she paid me well!
