I'm thinking the queen has a few things she's checking off her list before it's too late. She's just trying to keep a decorum going I guess. ??

I think the Queen made that announcement so when the time eventually came, Charles wouldn't have to be in the awkward position of doing it.

At least it's only Queen Consort.

Charles should have been able to marry her to begin with and apparently they were always in love. I think the fact that they are happy and she pitches in and does her job, seems to say this is a good move and another good and right decision by the Queen.
He didn't marry her in the first place , because she was already married. Diana was much too good for him in my opinion, and he was fooling around with this gal on the side. I don't care when she becomes Queen, but the world knows she's a replaced wife.

I think the Queen has spoken and that is the end of that. Camilla will be Queen Consort. The Dianaphiles won't like, the ones who pretend that Diana was a Saint. But no one cares about them. Real public sentiment in GB is quite positive, which surprised me a little. I subscribe to a couple of newspapers there. My daughter lived in London for several years, we've been there many times. Camilla works tirelessly, particularly during the pandemic. She is the epitome of what a working royal should be. She has handled herself brilliantly since marrying Charles. She has gained the publics trust and respect. Yes, Charles had an affair with the love of his life. That really is ancient history and irrelevant now that he's been married to Camilla for 17 years.

I believe her although her title will be Queen Consort, she will be referred to as Queen Camilla.
Prince Philip was Prince Consort.

@Love my grandkids wrote:@Sooner He will be king unless the queen outlives him which I doubt. She will not pass him over in favor of William. The palace has stated this and it would be breaking protocol.
@Love my grandkids All things we can't anticipate. I don't think for a second she will abdicate, but he may be the "acting" king when she becomes too old.
And looking at the family they could do a lot worse than Charles who has in his life done a lot for the environment and preservation and his charities.

If Charles had been crowned back much earlier in their marriage I would say no to the title of Queen Consort. After all this time and the work and devotion she as shown to the Royal family I say go ahead. I am not a fan of her and his past actions but that was then and this is now. God Bless the future King and his Queen Consort.

At least Camilla never packed her bags and left the country. She stayed in background and seen it thru to the end. Queen always respects loyalty and
keep your mouth shut.
