Re: Idle Thoughts About Our Friends Across the Pond

I feel sorry for PC because of the way Diana attacked his character publicly; as you can see the results here and everywhere, people will believe anything.

He wanted to emulate the wonderful marriage of his Grandmother, the Queen Mother, and King George, a marriage built on shared values and interests, and Diana misled him into believing she liked country life and had the same goals when she had none of them. She wasn't honest with him and when their marriage broke down she shred his character to the point that he is now generally regarded as a cheating scoundrel. So many lies told about the man it's unreal.

I remember when he and Camilla finally got married, people predicted he'd be cheating on her, well they seem quite happy to me, there are no problems in their marriage, that should tell you something.

Diana had the same problems with all the men she was with, accusing them of not loving her, etc., it's sad, she had terrible emotional problems you can't blame her for that but what is awful is the way she lacerated Charles publicly when he didn't deserve it and she damaged him irreperably.

I guess Charles and Camilla have the last laugh, though!

@BoopOMatic  Yes people will believe anything. Maybe YOU should take the blinders off and stop putting Charles on a pedestal the way you accuse others of doing with Diana.  For example, if as you say, he wanted to emulate his grandparents' wonderful marriage, then he should've had the b@**s not to be coerced into a marriage to Di when he didn't love her.  Not a good character trait IMO.

Princess Diana was all of 20 years old when she married Charles.

I understand Joan Rivers - a very sharp, intelligent lady IMHO - was a big fan of Camilla. They were friends.

Everyone will have their own version or theory about the Royals, but no matter what, no one, except the actual participants really know.

The Queen is very likable. She has her own individual charisma. She also earned her goodwill with her actions during WWII.

Charles and Camilla? Ehhhh. Not so much. I don't hate them or dislike them. But I can easily see that they lack any sort of IT factor needed to garner a lot of popular goodwill.

The next generation is much more likable.

Wasn't his mother that wanted him to "do get on with it" it was the Father.

The Queen's announcement this past week and recent Harry and Meaghan security nonsense is just a smokescreen for Prince Andrew's legal troubles.

I've heard that it was his father Prince Philip but who knows. Prob the queen as well. Years later the spineless Charles was whining that he was pressured to marry Di.

JR may've been sharp and intelligent, but she also made crude, scathing remarks about people.

I'm positive she said that Camilla was *horse-faced* or something similar.

I was shocked she was invited to the wedding because of that.
