Re: Idea for QVC. How about rewards for long term customers

I vote for the HSN model right now where you get free shipping over a certain amount. I guarantee they are testing it out right now to see if it works to increase sales over there.

I know it has on my end. I rarely shop anything at HSN except AL Vitamins and I ordered several electronic items last week with my coupon and free shipping. Never would have done that without the free ship.

Even if they bumped it to $100 or more for the free ship mark, it's not hard to hit when you stock up on some of the fashion, beauty, and kitchen shows and I know I usually spend more than I intended to hit the mark.

Several times this season, I've been wishing it was QVC who had the $75 free ship instead of HSN but I guess I still made the top brass happy either way. I made them very sorry this past weekend with no shipping fees. Smiley Very Happy

@bonnielu There are so many stores, restaurants, etc that have rewards programs for repeat customers/long term customers. I think something would be very much appreciated here.
But!    How would that benefit QVC?  All those rewards and discounts are given to generate business.  They are not gifts to loyal customers.  They aren't a display of gratitude.  They are strategically instituted to draw customers into a business.  QVC already has us.  We've been shopping for years or decades and while perks are appreciated; they aren't needed.  They aren't deal breakers.  They won't generate more sales from us.

@chrystaltree   NOT TRUE.   I don't automatically buy from QVC.  I shop around.

I've purchased a lot from Overstock.com and they continue to send me coupons, which I use regularly.  There are other sites I could buy from but if it's for the same item,  and their coupon makes it less expensive with free ship...  bingo!   Perks are given all the time from so many places to keep you coming back.  Even the restaurant where we take out pizza gives us a free pie for every $$ we spend.   LOVE!

There are SO MANY examples...

Then shop at those places because QVC hasn't initiated what you are looking for in the nearly 40 years I have shopped with them so it's a safe bet they aren't going to start now. There will be no free pizza after we buy 10.

Re: Idea for QVC. How about rewards for long term customers

Responding to the title only, not the responses/ideas given here, but what exactly is a long-term customer?  Why should they leave out new but existing customers?  I couldn't tell you how long I have shopped both HSN & QVC, so I'm not asking for me.  But, where's the cutoff, and how would people who have only been shopping at QVC for, say 6 months or a year feel being left out?

QVC seems to think EZ pays is the big draw.  I never choose to pay via EZ pay, so that extra EZ pay if you have the CC is no draw for me to get their CC.  I'd just as soon they treat all customers the same, new or existing, but I'm probably in the minority here.

I have about had it for the offers for NEW CUSTOMERS.  How about long term customers like most of us. Free shipping for us too.  Heck Amazon gives it to me and Prime membership is more than free shipping so the cost takes care of itself.  And Zulily which is owned by the Q has a shoppping cart approach. One shipping charge per day or weekend.  Why not that.

@bonnielu    Why not lots of freebies?  You need to go to the recently released quarterly report and read it carefully.  It's been posted here several times.  You'll get your answer.

Zulily needs to reexamine their shopping cart incentive.  With the huge loss they suffered, they really can't afford such generosity.  They had the largest loss of all the Qurate companies.  They appear to be in dire straits.

Not to be rude, but some of you are not realizing or refuse to recognize how dire the situation is  for QVC, you had best hope that they are still here in a few years.

If you doubt my word you need to take a gander at how much money they have lost in the 3rd quarter, and how they have recently had to sell some of their buildings including the headquarters (yesterday) even though they plan on leasing it back, to raise funds.

I see why they are trying to attract new customers, not sure if it's enough to right the tilting ship.

I would personally miss QVC if they were not around anymore, but all is not right.

If they did a rewards program...it could be for new and long term customers...doesn't matter.  But maybe as an insentive to stay with QVC...increase the reqards the longer you stay

Re: Idea for QVC. How about rewards for long term customers

I wouln't buy any more than I do now with free .shipping offers.  I buy what I want and need when I see it and do not feel the need to find something to buy or wait to buy because of free shipping.
