The thing I don't care about in the Primetime is that they show only the best of best.....I do agree that it is fun to watch during the day....you get to see the whole thing. Have been watching the NBC Sports most of the day today. Soon will be switching to the regular NBC.....

Do you know if it will be shown again tonight? I assume it will. I would love to see them all.

Yes, every night NBC starts off with the day's run of events that occurred. Google Sochi and you'll get the schedule.

Forgot to add about school figures. That used to be part of figure skating. They (judges) would test your edge as you trace patterns. It's still taught though. I'm not sure they do this during the Olympics. They still do it for most competitions (including worlds) It's never shown though. Very boring to watch

from Wiki

Compulsory figures were eliminated entirely from international competition after 1990.

Today, compulsory figures are no longer a major competitive event and few competitive skaters have the interest to learn how to do them. Some adult recreational skaters, however, still find pleasure in the control and mental stamina required to master figures and the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) still holds competitions and events that require multiple levels of proficiency. Compulsory figures also remain a part of artistic roller skating.

I loved a free skating dance with the pair from the USA.... they are both from the U of Mich and this was such a beautiful and skillful display. I have to admit that the skating is the event I most enjoy from the Olympics but this year got excited with snowboarding. However, thought one would have to be able to shape himself/herself like a pretzel to snowboard. It sure gets the adrenaline flowing.

Muttmom is absolutely correct. Compulsories were once worth up to 60% of a skater's total score. It was reduced over time to 20% and finally eliminated altogether in competition.

SPOILER

Both American teams did well!

The next two groups should be worth the price of admission.
