From National Today.com
Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated in the first full week of May, from May 7 through May 8 in 2023, and is when teachers get the extra credit they deserve. The big day is Teacher Appreciation Day on May 5, but teachers are just so great that they get a whole week to savor our appreciation. Whether you have a teacher, know a teacher, or are a teacher, there are endless ways to give a little extra support to teachers and teachers organizations. Teaching is known to be a time-consuming and challenging profession, so this week is our chance to say thank you to those that play or have played such a huge role in our lives. Who doesn’t have a fond memory of a teacher who inspired us in some way?
I just want to say thanks to all of those who are teaching now or retired from teaching. My heros ! You sacrifice for our children ( my children are 39 and 50 and had great teachers) and for our grandchildren ! My 7 yo grandson is in his last yr of virtual learning and the teacher has been awesome ! She has so much patience with these kids who don't stop talking and singing "down by the bay" ( I had never heard that song before ! Thanks Teachers ! God Bless !

I am not a teacher, I am a speech language pathologist who works in a school district. Our PTA has been very generous with us this week. Each day we have or will have a treat. We got a gift bag of homemade soap and a lottery ticket. We got a goodie bag of candy. On Tuesday and Thursday they bought us lunch from Moe's and tomorrow they are providing breakfast.

I worked for 41 years in an urban school system. I have great respect for all teachers. I was a Counselor and worked closely with the teaching staff. Many of my friends were teachers and I also have family members, retired and still working. who taught and teach. I am thankful for each and every one.
Bless all teachers for what they do, for inspiring youngsters to learn, to have skills , to be ready for their futures. I am proud of all of you.

Both my daughters are married to teachers and several cousins and now their adult children are teachers. I have great respect for teachers. It's challenging job and it gets harder every year.

@Goodie2shoes Thank you for your kind words. I come from a family of teachers...most of us are retired now..We loved the profession...and for me, working with young children was so rewarding. I respect all those who are teaching today. Things have changed quite a bit. I hope they get the support they need and deserve.
