Harry outside in front of cameras.....announcing the birth of his son...he looked so exciting and thrilled....what a blessing; mother and son are doing well...what more could you hope for? So much for keeping it a secret until later and having the palace announce it....Harry couldn’t wait to tell the world!

What wonderful news! I am so happy for this couple. And like @Trinity11 said, I am thinking of Diana so much now, I am glad mother and baby are doing well. Imagine Queen Elizabeth!

@bathina I love them too. Since day 1 I felt they were very much in love. Harry just did an interview stating how in awe he was of what Meghan did in regard to the birth.. He was just so happy.. I can’t wait for the name..Spencer in the name would be wonderful!

I believe the plan was to share the news. I think the couple communicated that they weren't revealing where they're having the baby, nor were they planning on a photoshoot on the hospital steps within hours of the birth. I'm quite sure announcing was the plan all along.
