Whoa, spectacular photos, @dooBdoo --  thanks so much for your excellent detective work finding them, and more info!

That's a puzzler to me too, @candys mine--  I wonder why they said it was 100 miles offshore?  That made little sense, real-world-wise, but made it seem so much wilder and more romantic!  A bit of a letdown....

Hmmmm. Those pictures looked more like a fortress than a castle.  Not in line with the beautiful castle of my dreams, LOL.

I had imagined living like a Princess in olden times - not like a prisoner in olden times!

Nah, your fellow boardies are softies. We want the mod cons, like flush toilets and pizza delivered on a sterilized plate. To say nothing of iPads and tablets. But go for that $40K, and we'll be cheering you on!

I would also do it if it was in Scotland and if I could bring my hubby Smiley Happy

You're welcome, @Oznell!  Actually, though, no detective work.😊
As I mentioned, I remembered a friend had shared pix and info about the island nestled in the lovely Gulf of Poets so I just copied her post.   I've been lucky to spend time in Italy and fall in love with its charm, so I tend to be drawn to related images and information.   Perhaps not a far-away, distant isolated isle but it's still a romantic bay with memories of the poets.❤️

Wait a minute...Amazon might not deliver there? @Teddie, we may need to rethink this.

Not me, at least not the me nowadays (maybe the me in my 20s or 30s), but it would be an intriguing spot to set a mystery novel using the premises you listed, @Oznell . All alone, yet livesteamed, but who murdered the occupant?  Oooooh, spooky.

That was my first thought on seeing the original picture, @dooBdoo , that it was a military outpost/fortress. We have some that are vaguely similar here in the SF Bay Area, although not so compact and none on an island by itself.
