I know it's been said, but TPTB are directing us to other social platforms. I'm not comfortable with a lot of those.
It started out as a privacy issue, then a friend's DS got into trouble. Another friend had a stalker. Because they had been friends in school a while back, she "accepted" him, He wouldn't leave her alone and commented on every single thing she posted. She didn't want to block him because she once knew him and they had friends in common.
So I prefer to do it this way. It seems a lot of others prefer it too, and a lot of us seem to all be over 50 or so.
It seems to me QVC is more concerned about the younger crowd. Do the statistics show that?
I just can't believe TPTB want to lose the consumers who built them up!
I did join the new board. It's good to "see" familiar faces there! ![]()

Some stats suggest that a younger target is on facebook. They likely are younger than 70. The big question isn't the target audience though. The big question is what does QVC have to offer this new target audience? Millenials and younger folk want things quick, fast and in a hurry. They will not be dealing with Q's failures. They don't want the fashion either.

The younger shoppers use Amazon...they want their stuff 'yesterday'....

They will never get the younger crowd.
#1 The clothes they sell are NOT what the younger people want. The prices are ridiculous. The younger crowds do not wear layers of clothing.
#2 They are not going to sit and watch QVC. Actually unless you enjoy a 24 hr infomercial, No one wants to.
#3 The younger groups will not tolerate their posts being deleted.
#4 They will NEVER pay the high food prices that QVC wants.
#5 When QVC started people stayed home with their kids. Today everyone works. No one has time to watch a 24 hour infomercial.
#6 There is a ton of online places to shop online. It wasn't like that when QVC started.
#7 Do you think any young person is going to wait weeks for a order?

Yes, here's your dumb bottom line, QVC.
The younger crowd you want will never shop with you.
And the older crowd, who built the company and keep it afloat, you are now running off in droves...literally.
DO the math!

All so true. My DD and DIL would never shop at the Q. First, they have their established sites for clothing. And even more importantly, they don’t have the time and energy to watch QVC shows.
So, the older crowd, many free of paying for braces and college tuitions, have money to spend on what they want, not just need. And many, like myself, buy stuff for others at the Q.
For any business to be successful, they first must identify their “target audience.” Marketing 101.
Speaking of Target, that chain is doing very well. Appealing to those who want discount shopping in a more upscale environment. Off topic, but an example of smart leadership at the top.

A few times a month I go to Walmart with my husband to pickup his meds because we chose Humana Part D. Not sure yet if that was a good idea....but we have to pass the clothing section and super cute clothing there made with some heft...not flimsy at all and at rock bottom prices.

You nailed it @BalletBabe . qvc does not offer the younger consumer what they are looking for. My daughters call the clothing they offer "grandma clothes" and I wholeheartedly agree with them and i'm in my mid 60's. Moving to FB is a bad management decision. QVC won't get younger consumers because of what they offer, the outrageous prices and poor shipping which has been going on for years. Just my opinion, but I don't see nearly as bright a future for the Q as their management does.
