This sure brings back memories of when I used to iron. I don't remember exactly when I stopped--probably when I retired. But when I finally tossed the board and iron in favor of a steamer, one of these things was still sitting on the board! 😕

I had a ton of chores from about age 9 or ten, and the one I loved was ironing.  Sort of like yoga, very relaxing. Ten pieces a day was my quota, tho' my mother would tolerate my doing one or two of the family handkerchiefs.  

My least favorite chore was vacuuming and sweeping, so I was first in line for roomba/robots and Dysons.  It's still not my strong point, but they help a lot.

I am neutral about dishwashing, so I never replaced my dishwasher when it stopped working.      I don't love washing dishes, but I don't really mind it.

I haven't ironed in at least 20 years........I DON't think the grandchildren even know what an iron is...
