Yes, there are. I'm sure Bed Bath Beyond carries them but I've seen them at our market.

I am not a perfect person.

I use my keurig.

For my house, it saves us from waste of coffee and water.

You don't have to agree.

LOL

I agree. I'm sorry, but I'm not really worried about the pods.

We have a Keurig, but I use it as little as possible because of the plastic waste. Between the cost of the machine and the cost of the pods, it's an expensive way to drink coffee.

George Carlin did a great bit about the earth plus plastic. While I recycle a lot, I'm not at war with plastic, and when you find out how many recyclables end up in the regular trash due to a variety of reasons, it's not something I'm going to fret over. Use the reusable cup, and all is fine.

Get a reusable cup, and there's no real waste. You can also use the machine for just heating up the water for tea, cocoa...whatever.

60 BILLLION K-cups in our landfills and counting.

Again, 60 BILLION.

You don't have to brew a ton of coffee - you can simply brew enough for 1 or 2 cups - ours does.

Foolish point that Keurig saves anything. In fact, since they won't be 100% recycled until 2020, we still have another 5 years to go with consume and toss mentality.

We're not at all short on landfill space so cover it up and build on top. A landfill near a childhood home was topped off with a multi million $ business. Last time I checked, it was still going strong.

I'm not a coffee drinker, nor do I have or want a Keurig, but when I've seen them in stores and on QVC, I've always thought about all the waste they cause too. Such a shame.

Same here. I use biodegradeable an/or recyclable pods about 60% of the time and don't worry about the rest.

i am sensitive to the trash issue - use some pods that don't create that much trash. San Francisco something or other with a kind of thin netting at bottom. but frankly i generate so much more trash from the packaging on beauty items and stuff from the grocery store. those jewelry boxes i don't use, etc.

LOVE my Keurig! My first one died after several years. Replaced it the same thing with another Keurig, I would NEVER go back to brewing coffee. The biodegradable will come.
