How much time do you spend on this forum per day/week why and on average how many posts do you read and or respond to ? I've been reading the forum posts everyday for about the last 8-9 months, started after having a knee replacement, sitting at home recovering, watching QVC then decided to read the forum so I kinda got hooked. I don't always respond to posts but I do read back about 5-6 pages on average, laugh at some posts, give hearts to some, respond to some and think some are down right rude. Some I consider entertaining and there are some that I can't understand why the poster even posted when they must have known it would get removed due to some coupon code or rude remark about a host or vendor. Now I'm sitting at home recovering again, this time from foot surgery so I'm still reading posts everyday. So what about you?

Beats me! Ever heard the phrase:
"Time Flys When You're Having Fun"?

When I was doing the Y&R soap opera group I dedicated half my life to it. Wised up and got back to land of the living. Show, is dumb anyway, wouldn't bother me if it went off the air.
Lots of discussions I'd like to post in, but, think better of it and keep on going.
Mostly the same people posting all over the forums anyway.
Not good for people to sit down so much in one place all the time. I've heard of people getting blood clots. You have to get up and move keep the blood circulating. Some folks spend to much time in here not healthy.

My participation on the board has increased during the past eight months. I've been out of work fighting cancer. Some days I just read posts. Some days I respond to posts. It varies by the day and how I was feeling that day. I am on the mend and going back to work on Tuesday, so my participation will decrease. The board though helped keep my mind off things during the dark days.

Sharke, in response to your comment that you heard that some people get blood clots from sitting so much, I've also heard of that. I could not sit all day reading these forums, it would drive me nuts. Good point, thanks for the comment

I love a good message board. I don't really do much social media. This is what I like. I don't participate a great deal-more here and there I think. I have been lurking forever but just started posting fairly recently. I try and stay out of controversy here as in life in general, but I would get into something if I felt really strongly. I go on everyday and read-not really sure how long at a clip. Maybe an hour a day averaged out? That's probably way too much, but it's a great place for information and entertainment for me. There are so many smart informed people here and they far outweigh the negative ones, but the negatives can get to me sometimes.

For me it varies. Some days I'm not on at all, and other days I'm visiting off and on throughout the day.
If I'm home and working around here, I have bad knees, so I can run up and downs steps, and work for a couple of hours, then I need to sit. So I often check in while I 'sit' and rest. I'm alone at breakfast time, so I usually check in while I have a bowl of raisin bran in the morning.
I do no social media and don't participate on any other forums, so this is it for me.
I love the home and holiday forum, and love a spirited debate here on Community chat. Only visit some of the other forums now and again.

It varies. I check in every day and browse the topics. Depending on what is being discussed and the tone of conversation I will post a comment.
However, I read a lot more than I post.

I come here frequently throughout the day and night...,some days I just read...other days I reply...depends on the topics and if I think I have anything to add to the conversation...

This is known DVT(Deep Veinous Thrombosis). I have spoken of this for years on the Wellness Forum because way too many people have never heard of it. A big percentage that have heard of do not realize how deadly this can be if they do not get to a hospital.
Flying while sitting can be even more cause for concern. If I remember correctly, it is because of the change of "cabin pressure" I always wore/wear Knee High Compression Socks. After my 2 bouts with Lung Blood Clots(PE), my Pulmonologist said I had to do this to be safer.
Sitting in a cramped space with little or no leg movement is not good. It is much different than sitting at a computer with lots of room for leg movement. Getting up regularly and walking for a bit is a good thing in all long sitting situations.
Better to BE SAFE,
