I have not seen the commercial but I would not buy a Kia because 2 people that I know that had them did not do well with them. One of them is my bother. Apparently, to keep the 100,000 mile warranty you have to bring the Car back to the Kia dealer. In my brothers case and in my friends case, they both ended up in service with "problems" that were not covered under warranty. I could not understand why new Car's kept having problems. Both were treated the same way. Any Kia owners out there who had this experience or have not?

I drove a Kia for a few years, new from the dealer....and it was great! Our older daughter has a new one that she's driven for a year, and she loves it. Our middle daughter bought a used one that she has driven for five years and it has also been a great car.

Love the Kia Hamsters!!

Last time we had a rental it was a Kia Soul...not a bad car for a rental....I wouldn't be opposed to owning one but it would not be my 1st choice of vehicle unless it was all my budget allowed.

KIA is a joke in our household! We only drive American made vehicles.

LOL! doesn't it make you wonder who the creative folks are behind some of these commercials? I mean the hamsters are so funny- and there are so many others too that are very entertaining...I doubt I would buy a Buick, but I have to admit that those Payton Manning Buick commercials are really funny!

I drive a 2007 Kia Rondo, a model they don't produce anymore. It's been a great car. I have just over 100,000 miles on it now and I've only done regular stuff like brakes and tires on it. I previously had a Dodge Intrepid which I loved but my husband claimed was a money pit. Lots of electronic problems with that one. Only issue I had with the Kia was terrible upholstery. It stained like crazy, even from water. I had to put seat covers on it. I did some research online and saw that other car makers used this crummy material that year. Even with this, I've been happy with my Kia and it has a nice solid ride, also easy on my budget which is what I needed.

Warranty work generally has to be done at the Dealer- with very few exceptions- what is unusual about that? Lots of "problems" are not covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty- especially wear and tear items...

The problem is both vehicles were new and they kept finding things wrong. I have driven Acura since 1996 and have never had this happen to me.

Indeed. Right now, I'm driving a Hyundai Tucson Limited. It's a great car. Handles beautifully in the snow and ice. Love the panoramic view and the nav system. I see nothing wrong with a Hyundai.

Frankly you cannot judge a vehicle by one or two examples-( and fixing problems early which are cuased by manufacturing flaws is WHY there are warranties in the first place) The dealrship I work at sells Mazda, Chevrolet , Honda , Subaru and Dodge/Ram and Fiat...guess which cars have the most warranty work???

At our dealership it is Subaru/...probably NOT what most people were thinking, right?

however this is only ONE dealership, and probably not indicative of all vehicles out there

I just bought a Mazda. I wanted something with great gas mileage due to the amount I drive commuting and when I am out in the field. I also didn't want to spend a fortune as I kill any car with miles putting on at least 75,000 a year!
