I am on my second Santa Fe. The first one had 135,000 miles in two years.

IN TWO YEARS?!

I have a car that's over 15 years old, and it still has less than 135,000 miles. What the heck are you doing? Running drugs?

I drove 180 miles round trip every day to work (had to leave at 6:30 to get to work at 8AM.) My sales territory stretched from the Finger Lakes to Erie PA and everything in between. It was mostly highway miles.

I averaged between 3 and 4 full tanks of gas a week.

Kias started out as low priced, inferior cars. They no longer are. I own a Kia and even though I don't drive anymore (my daughter drives it), I just love riding in it. It is a solid little car that has served us well.

My daughter has a 2006 Kia Sorento and she loves it. Has never had any problems with it besides your regular maintenance, brakes, tires, etc. She will be buying another one in a couple of years. Please don't judge any brand by a couple of stories that you hear. There are problems with all makes and models of cars. I had a coworker that used the lemon law in Wisconsin and ended up with a brand new car because she had so much trouble with a Ford.

It is what it is!!!

Same with Hyundais!

I bought mine after my friend had a great experience with her Santa Fe and the 100,000 warranty sealed the deal.

Kia's have the same warranty and good reliability ratings.

Are we talking hybrids or gas powered cars here?

my car is 8 years old and it doesn't have 80,000 miles on it yet. one year when i took it into the dealership for it's oil change they teased me so much about this! i can't remember the exact number but the miles were even lower and they could not believe it because they remembered when my DH bought it for me brand new. my baby boy will be driving soon and we are giving it to him when my DH buys me the infiniti that i want.

it's funny how someone makes such a broad statement about Kia's are so unsafe - based on the experience's of two people!

i know someone with one - she has a one of the SUV's - and she loves it.

any brand can have these problems. the lady across the street bought a brand new $$ model last year and came out to go to work and the car would not crank!! she had to call the dealership and they had a tow truck to come pick it up!

I stand by my 'statement' including my test drive with a model that I found to be inferior in handling and my personal standards. I don't begrudge anyone else who is happy with their choices..........

I think that these days Hyundai makes some of the best looking cars on the road. A friend has had several in his family and they have loved every one of them.

I drove a Kia Soul and wasn't crazy about it. Felt kind of cheap to me, not solid. But I drove my friend's Kia Forte, and while it was too small inside (and I'm not a big person) for my taste, it drove well and felt better than the Soul.

I ended up with a Mazda, though, after many years with a Honda.

Love my Mazda!
