I've never had a professional manicure

And I'm thinking about treating myself to one soon. My nails are natural and in really good shape and a good length. What exactly will they do to my nails, other than put polish on them? How fast does the polish dry? I've always wondered how people can get their keys and get in the car and fasten their seatbelt without messing them up. How much do you tip?

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
