It looks like Venmo is only available through a mobile app. I often use PayPal, but since I don't use apps, it wouldn't work for me. If Venmo was available in computers, I would try it.

Not happy that Amazon doesn't use PayPal. I still buy from them, but Paypal is my preferred choice for shopping online.

@teganslaw

you can get a paypal debit card. it will allow you to use your paypal account on amazon or any other site that may not directly take paypal. there are other ways to be able to use it also.

@teganslaw   I use Paypal through Amazon.  That's how my account is set up.  Amazon definitely accepts it.  I order from them a couple of times a week.

Edited to say:  I checked my Amazon account and have a credit card set up for payment, not PayPal.  I apologize for my incorrect statement.  I keep thinking I need to get an Amazon credit card since I shop there so often.

@NickNack  is yours a Paypal Debit Card? If so, maybe that´s why they accept it.

@teganslaw :  Why wouldn't you get an Amazon credit card; you get cash back.  I spend probably an average of $500 monthly ( I buy everything from pool filters to T.V.s) on Amazon and cash back really adds up.

@Sage04   @teganslaw   I'll go back and edit my post.  I was sure PayPal was the way my Amazon account was set up, but I checked and I use a credit card.  I'm sorry I made that incorrect statement.

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

Not sure about an Amazon credit card,as I don't buy every month. Paypal has offered me a debit card, so I might go for it. That way I'll have more access to things.

I used Venmo to pay my music teacher during the pandemic when we did FaceTime classes and also to pay the hairdresser. I was hesitant at first but it works out great. No problems and the payment goes through very quickly.

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

I don't use it a ton, but have one friend who sells costume jewelry and some other things.  Venmo is her preferred way to receive money so she doesn't get socked with fees.  Using the app is super simple. The cash transfer from a bank account is fee free. If the payer chooses the credit or debit card option, there is a fee.

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

If you pay with Venmo by entering the person's name you want to pay, how does Venmo verify which "John Smith" is the one you want to pay?
