Re: I used Venmo for the first time

@BornToShop I love Zelle. I only have one person to Zelle to and have used it since it first started. Have had no occasion to use Venmo but I hear it works great, too. I'm another who does all bill paying online.

I still use Paypal. I also.  Can´t get away from Paypal after all these years. I thought that Venmo was a part of Paypal.

@Sage04 - I, once again, am behind the times, LOL.  I only use PayPal and have my PayPal account linked to my credit card, not to my bank account.  I really don't like anything that attaches to my bank account.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

there are cautions to be aware of when using it,  just like anything these days.

I looked into it, but passed.  some bank protections are not available with them

just read about it

I also don't have PayPal  and don't leave my CC# out there either

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

I use PayPal all the time, I haven't jumped on the Venmo wagon yet. Used to use Zelle but something keeps happening with my bank where I have to call in and get it fixed - and it takes 2 hours! Never had a problem with what we used before, but after 3 times of this Zelle is a no-go for me.

The way I understand it, Venmo is a part of PayPal but for personal use, like we go out dinner, one person pays the entire bill and the other diners reimburse them through Venmo.

There are no fees attached for personal usage.

I did have to use it once to pay for something or mail a check then wait for it to get there, clear and then get my quilt back.  I opted to use Venmo but didn't really like doing it and darn near had my head taken off when I put the word "invoice" in the description.  I had no idea.

Spoiler

I used Pay Pal to buy something at Walmart online last week.

@Nuttmeg

i use three......paypal, venmo, and zelle. i am using venmo the most though because that is what my kids prefer using. venmo is a product of paypal. very easy to use and i now have their debit card AND their credit card.

order of use......venmo, paypal, then zelle.

Re: I used Venmo for the first time

It looks like Venmo is only available through a mobile app. I often use PayPal, but since I don't use apps, it wouldn't work for me. If Venmo was available in computers, I would try it.

Not happy that Amazon doesn't use PayPal. I still buy from them, but Paypal is my preferred choice for shopping online.
