I was pretty little when Red was on T.V. My parents watched him. I remember the other kids saying their parents didn't like him because he laughed at his own jokes.
I am nostalgic about him and do remember fondly some of his characters...
I have always been a fan of Paul Harvey...Good DAY!
Oh and don't get me started on the Smothers' Brothers! HUGE FAN. My brother and I had one of their comedy albums and pretty much memorized the whole thing.

I did my friend...especially Red's reading.
Very thought provoking, scottie. Thanks for giving me something to think about!

I always enjoyed Paul Harvey. This just about said it.
I always loved, Red Skelton, too.
Thanks, Scottie.

For those of you who love music, are you aware that Red was very gifted in composing some 4,000 songs, and conducting some very impressive orchestras?
He composed a favorite marching band score...White and Blue, I believe is the name of it.
Clearly, they don't make them like Red anymore.
Thanks for the thread, scottie.

You're welcome sweetpea! Funny story about Red. When my niece was a little girl Red was already a thing of the past. I said something to her one day about "Red Skelton". She says "who?" I said "Red Skelton....you know...Freddie The Freeloader, Clem Cadiddlehopper..." She looked at me as if I had 2 heads

That sounds familiar Rondell, but I don't think I did know it. Thanks for sharing that information.

Me too. A guy I worked with listened everyday and I learned to enjoy his program.
