Re: I think this sums up 2020....

I wish people would stop blaming the year. January 2021 promises to be even worse in many ways. Nothing will get magically better.

2020 wasn't one of my best years, but I have a lot to be thankful for.  I have received many blessings, but I don't want a repeat this year in 2021.

Prayers for a better year ahead.

  2020 was definitely a difficult year for my family. But we did have many blessings. My son graduated from law school,got married & passed the Bar Exam. We also have been able to avoid the virus.

  I'm not sure how much better 2021 will be.I pray every day for it to be a better year. Our country needs healing. We need to see people back to work & control over this horrendous virus!! Only time will tell.

A reminder:

Besides the pandemic, 2020 was also notable for:

* the warmest January in history

* the Australian bushfire crisis

* the embracing of racial justice

* the record-setting U.S. wildfires

* the vote for unity and healing

Like every year, a mixture of both bad and good.

We can only hope and pray that the world is in better shape in 2021.

I wouldn't bank on a vote for unity and healing.

Re: I think this sums up 2020....

2020 was supposed to *serve* as a wake-up call in many ways. It was also intended to humble people. If too few have not gotten the message, the year/s ahead will only be worse (not being pessimistic, just realistic). More people need to see the bigger picture and act accordingly.

2020 has had some wonderful blessings for me that wouldn't have come any other way. Though I hope things are better for more people next year, I have my sights on 2030.

As much as I wish that a flip of the calendar to 2021 will be better my gut says we need patience and hard work a head of us. But I still have a lot of blessings and will make an effort to remember that. I wonder where we all will be a year from now. Interesting to say the least.

Depends on what kind of a change you mean. Change isn't always necessarily for the better.

@CoffeeNut

For way too many, yes. For my personal life, which includes most of our family, we have been through many much worse. Losing 3 of our older furry family in less than 2 months was the worst part of the present year.
