I always ask my daughters what they'd like as a Christmas present. Unlike many, my girls actually need things. One of my daughters wanted a new handbag and sent me a photo of a Coach she liked that was offering a huge discount. Without thinking (I should have known better) I just went ahead and ordered it.
That was several weeks ago. All I received was an "email" type notification that my payment went through and I would receive the paperwork when they shipped the bag. No Coach logo, no address, nothing that looked legitimate. I was immediately suspicious. I wrote back that I would like a phone number just in case there was a problem. I received the same email back about shipping the paperwork at the time they shipped the bag. I have received nothing.
I know I can contact my CC company, but am wondering if I should wait a little while longer to see if the handbag arrives.
Anyone been through this and have any suggestions?

I would give them my telephone number and/or ask them to call me or e-mail me the info within 24 hours or you'll stop payment on the bag. If it's been two weeks and you haven't received it, you've been scammed. You'll need to call your credit card company to get them to take this off your bill and investigate the matter.

Contact the credit card company as soon as possible to stop payment.

I guess you didn't buy from Coach, but maybe another outlet?
How did you find the 'site' to purchase? Did you google this handbag or was a site provided with the picture?
I'd contact the CC now, since the co. is sending you a generic, non informative reply.
How does one even go after these 'faux' online shops? I hope someone goes after them!

If the source you ordered from is an Asian-based company, the handbag is not a genuine Coach. There are many websites out there advertising "Coach" bags at what seem like phenomenal prices. Most are not the genuine product.
If it is one of the replicas and it is from an Asian company, the shipping can be unusually long. They have to go through customs when delivered to the USA.

My guess is you ordered a fake and it is shipping from China. This happened to my sister's best friend a couple of years ago. She ordered my sister a wallett from a "discount" site. When she still hadn't received the wallet after 3 weeks, she was sure she'd been scammed. It took 4 weeks but she eventually did receive what she ordered.
Of course, to this day I do not think she knows she ordered a fake and I wasn't going to tell her.
