I seem to be in the minority

Possibly I'm the only one that doesn't seem to be going through a lot of  angst over the closing of the boards.   This may be a good time to start reading more, getting  out

and taking walks, lunches with friends.  My morning routine is reading the boards but I'm sure not going to lose any sleep over them going away.  I'm thinking interacting in the real world is probably better for us in the long run..   There are a lot of very nice people on the boards and I wish everyone the best life  has to offer.

Re: I seem to be in the minority

I didn't live on the boards nor did it interfere with my life. I would check in here and there to see what was up. I so enjoyed the posts of houses and fashion. I loved learning a new recipe and when someone would let you know of a bargain. Oh and a book or show or movie and maybe some news I didn't see yet. Such an interesting community. I for one will miss checking in. ❤️

@Junebug54 - You can be sure there will be posters who miss you! I understand what you are saying, but we're living in a new time and people are interacting online. A lot of us have jobs, and do things with "real life" friends, but we have grown to care about those we "see" here. We share each other's joys and sorrows.

So I'm just saying there will be posters who wonder how @Junebug54 is.  Smiley Happy

I will definitely miss posters.  Even those that I didn't always agree with.  I certainly won't miss the mods deleting anything of interest.   I loved reading about books.  Then again there's always Barnes and Noble.. Again my best to all...

You're not the only one.

I'm not going through angst, I just went to the proboards site and signed up. It's not that big of a deal, anyone who wants to stay in the loop and continue to socialize can go over there. All it is, is a change of servers. I actually like the new board better already.

Re: I seem to be in the minority

There are things and posters I'll miss, but I can go out for a walk, meet friends, shopping...some posters can't, some depend on this BB for companionship, to share concerns and ask opinions. Seems the Q's new man cares nothing at all about them.

Re: I seem to be in the minority

I enjoy coming on the boards, too.  Interacting with others about the reality shows I watch and my exercise group is fun.  And I can't forget all of the things I run on here to ask advice about.  Especially electronics.

But I don't feel like something extreme has happened in my life.  From my perspective, I'll miss it but it doesn't negatively impact my life.  This board is replaceable.

I've registered with the other boards mentioned and hopefully I won't get too frustrated that my user name and password is being refused every other time that I log in, lol.  Two of those boards are considered the same so I guess the passwords/user name should match.

Anyway, I'm not sweating this small stuff.  Too much important, life changing stuff is happening.

I hope to see you guys after November 2nd.

I love the boards too ladies and am going to fight like mad to keep them open, but I do want an alternative as a soft place to land!

Pro Bord is a visually clean site and all you need to do is registure.

Re: I seem to be in the minority

I have a very active, full schedule (including an 11 month old Lab puppy) but always enjoy coming to the boards to chat with some that have been here for many years.

I also come here for answers to questions and a multitude of other things.

I recall coming to the boards very late one night, having had to put down my beloved Golden that day.  I was heartbroken and just wanted others to know how special he was to me.  Posters were so kind and it meant so much.

If there were no other option, I would truly miss it.
