I scored toilet paper!

[ Edited ]

Made my way to the grocery store in about two weeks.  Snagged the last four pack of the store brand I use.  And yes I was beginning to ration.

Actually I was more excited about getting two huge olive oils at $8 a piece.  The good kind.  Had to settle for Romano instead of Parmesan to shred for my salads but I'll make due.  Plus they had lots of good heads of lettuce so I stocked up for my meals.  It's actually been summer weather around here.  When did a head become $2?

Tissues you can still forget about.  Found chicken which seems to have escalated in price. The rest of the store is still ransacked which I don't get.

Everyone is still out and about so I'm not sure where everyone is off to at lunchtime on a Monday.  Even passed a school bus.  🧐 Explain that one to me.  We've been sheltered in place for two weeks in this county.

Back to work tomorrow for my potential final week.  Hope everyone is hanging in.

Btw, the best moment was a guy in a mask and gloves in tshirt and shorts wheeling cases of beer to the checkout guy who had a black bandanna tied around his mouth. He was upset I was a little close to his beer which he rolled towards me.  Hang back two seconds while I finish putting the cart back.  Your blood alcohol content will hang in.

Priorities, peeps.  Priorities.  😂. Take it all in.  Hopefully we'll never see this again in our lifetimes.

You were lucky.  Went to 2 stores today no tp.  I still have some but my son's family is almost out.  They are both still working and by the time they get out of work there is no chance at all.  I will keep trying for them.  Worst case, I will share mine!

As to the school bus many of the towns around us are using them as hot spots for children to get wi-fi for lessons or distribtuion centers for their breakfast/lunches.

Be safe out there.

@kitty60 Not sure where you are but if you are in the South, Ingles was the store I was in.  They had the last package of their own brand and lots of Scott single rolls.

Strange that such mundane information as buying toilet paper has suddenly become newsworthy.

@Witchy Woman It's the little things.  😂 I was beginning to regret not picking it up at Walmart a few weeks ago but I didn't really need it at that point and I know it's in short supply.  Do a good deed and it comes back to ya.  Smiley Happy

@Laura14

I've always kept several packages "in stock" on my pantry shelves.  DH likes the Great Value brand from Walmart.  I can use anything.

Our Food Lion hasn't had TP when I was there in the last 3 visits.  So, while I don't need any, I will pick some up if/when I see it.

I'm thankful I keep the basics on my shelves, but most of us are not prepared to go weeks/months without TP!

Like I said the other day....toilet paper = new gold!

@Witchy Woman I don't blame you.  I'm getting into that just in case mode too.  I thought the hoarders would have exhausted themselves by now but apparently not.  Hope you score some soon.

Well, I went to the clinic pharmacy this AM.for my prescription, I was wearing a makeshift mask, and when they took my temp, they gave me a good mask. Back when I had to wear them all of the time , I never imagined how pleased I would be to get one. 😷

Most grocery stores are keeping toilet paper at the customer service desk. It does appear that there is slowly more and more available and 2 of my stores actually put some on the shelves this weekend.  I ran out Saturday morning so I was happy to be able to get some as I had been looking for a couple of days.  I have been able to find tissues though.

@Laura14 My sister lives in Atlanta (Buckhead),and she has been able to get toilet paper, paper towels, etc at Costco over the last month.  In fact she was there yesterday.
