They wouldn't have any info other than what institution cleared the check. No individual info unless you yourself write it on the back of check.

You can have your bank/credit union take a look at it if it's worth your time. Their fraud area may know if it is a scam going around.

Anytime you write a check the recipient has your account number, it's on the check along with the bank name. You can call the bank and find out if there are substantial funds deposited to that account, enough to cover the amount on the check. In the past, checks were the standard payment method and businesses often called banks to avoid bounced checks.
