I need to vent about a stupid Christmas party decision that treats people unfairly.

I'm really tired and feeling whiny, so forgive me if I whine too much.

Tonight was the Christmas party for the company I work for. Every year, they do draws for door prizes, but they do it early on. Not too early. We have dinner first, then do the draws.

This year, they decided to spread out the draws until really late because they want people to stay until 1am (since that's how long the DJ is being paid). They didn't want people to leave early, when the draws are usually done.

I have to work early tomorrow morning, so I decided to leave around 10:30pm. I need my sleep. I told the draw guys that I gave my ticket to a friend/co-worker and she would claim my prize if I won one after I left. They said NO! If you're not there, they'll draw another name.
And they're saving the best prize - a TV - for last.

I am so not happy! They expect me to stay out and party all night and then go to work in the morning all tired and cranky and not up to doing my job?
How are they being fair to the people who want to be responsible and leave at a decent time? I don't consider 10:30pm all that early anyway.

If you've read this far, then Thank You!
I appreciate having someone to "listen". Anyway, now that I've vented, I'll be better able to fall asleep.

G'nite!
