My 42 yr old niece is getting married for the 1st time. She is my Brothers Daughter.My Brother and I are estranged. We haven't spoken or seen each other in over 25yrs. I have a relationship with my niece & her 47 yr old brother.

She is getting Married on the Island of St John and it's going to be a very small affair about 20 people. I don't expect to be invited given the circumstances..BUT I have to send something to Honor the Wedding. I purchased 2 Waterford Champagne Flutes. They are so beautiful...BUT that is not enough. I want to send money with it. I just don't know what's enough. I'm leaning towards $500..Any suggestions?

That's more money than I give for weddings, but expectations are different with different people and families. Of course, you may give whatever amount you wish. A $500 gift is very generous.

I already wrote a beautiful note in the Wedding Card I am putting in the gift with the money.She & her brother are very special to me. I have no children and I was very young when they were born.
