I will start by telling you I have always had dogs. Well, 4 years ago a kitten landed on my doorstep. He was so hungry he came in and ate the dog's food. I went and bought cat food and treats and now my home is his home. He has been an indoor/outdoor cat. He never had a litter box.
He recently was bit and has several puncture wounds. The vet told me to keep him in for 7 days. I bought a litter box and he will not use it. She told me to keep him shut in a room so he doesn't leave me any surprises.
My problem is he has cried continuously and it is breaking my heart. For seasoned cat lovers, how do you get an older cat to use a litter box? Is there anything I can do so he stops crying?
