I made up a cake!

[ Edited ]

I had  a can of apple pie filling, a yellow cake mix..and about 3/4 of a cup of Smuckers butterscotch topping

First i took a pair of kitchen shears to the apples...cut into small pieces

In a bowl, cake mix, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup of water, apple pie filling, dash of vanilla

Mix well

Add a few big spoon fills of the cake mix  to the butterscotch in a speparate bowl..mix

Pam your baking dish, I used a 11x9 I have. pour in mix, level, then dollop the buttersotch mixture.  Cut with a knife to marble.

I baked at 340 for about 45 minutes..till center is done

It is so yumm..no frosting needed..

Something similar:

Any flavor boxed cake mix + any flavor canned friut pie filling.

Mix together and bake.

Favorites: chocolate cake + cherry pie filling = black forest cake.

So you omitted the oil that is usually added to cake mixes ? I want to try out your receipe but want to makesure that the appleas acted as a subsitute for the  cooling oil that usually keeps the cake moist.
