So are children seeing these pornographic pop ups if they go on their FB page?

it probably depends on their settings, but i can honestly say that i am on facebook daily and i have never seen those types of pop-ups and i dont use ad-block.

I've never seen them either and I've been on fb for at least 5 years.

If I was seeing those types of things coming up regularly on facebook I'd be running a full virus and malware scan on my computer.

Usually the only pop ups I see are from things I have previously looked at and are related only to that.

 Never porn.

@Melania Yes, I have the same experience. I am hardly ever on FB, but what usually pops up are handbags that I have actually looked at somewhere.Woman Embarassed  Smiley LOL

I'm a little concerned about children, if this stuff comes up randomly.

Re: I'm so over facebook

[ Edited ]

I was over Facebook in less than a week of being on it. It is a haven for narcissim, among other things.

And then watching an expose about how they keep a database of all the pictures posted including the names of the people in the pictures. They share the database with the government. It doesn't even matter if you delete the pictures- as soon as they are posted, they are in the database. Something about that just seems wrong.

.I agree ! There are many sites that have the databases used for nefarious purposes. It's Scary !  Posters beware !  Especially in the Shopping sites at this time of Year ! Smiley Mad

Yes, before I added ad bloc I had noticed ads popping up for sites I had visited. ..nine west, macy's, etc - not any longer.   I don't know if the OP shares her computer with anyone but she may want to avoid this.

I can't remember the site now but one of my friends  (from facebook) about the main advertising firms that you can go to to request your name be deleted from ads.  There are quite a few.

RE; facebook, I no longer have ads running down the right side of the page nor hidden ads  asking to 'like them.' either.  No more trash on the right side of yahoo either or the top banners with varying ads..

Pop ups are no problem on news sites  (i.e.huff po..now I wish I could do this on my phone. Woman LOL
