About a month ago I splurged and bought a blanket from Lands End. It wasn't cheap; it cost $150.

Today I washed it for the first time, using cold water and a "delicate" setting and when I removed it from my washing machine, it had HOLES in it.

I started ranting and raving and my DH said, "they aren't that bad" but I toldhim if I pay that kind of money for a blanket, it should last longer than 1 month and it shouldn't disintegrate in the washing machine. I'm going to call Lands End tomorrow and tell them I want a refund; if a blanket is so flimsy, I don't want another one.

Whew!

You should be able to return it without a problem.  LE needs to know about it.

1. She's not required to answer your question.

2. If you would use the @ along with her user name, she'd see in the notifications that you'd actually asked a question. Also, considering the time stamp on the original post, she may have gone to bed and not come back to check for responses yet. A little patience please.

I have several blankets from Lands End and LLBean. None of mine have ever done that.

So stop ranting. Send it back if you want. The world isn't ending.

Because your blankets haven't done that, doesn't mean hers didn't.

She doesn't have to stop ranting.

She can rant.

No one said the world is ending.

You're welcome....

Would you answer my question?

What does it matter?

Unless the blanket was a crochet type design and it was thrown into the machine with something that had hooks and it got snagged.

@GoneButNotForgotten   Contact LE customer service. I suggest using the live chat feature so you can save a copy.

LE will waive the return fee. I assume you did not pay shipping to you since the price was over $99.

LE has excellent service.

One question - is this a LE brand blanket because they do use other vendors now.  The return will still be ok but I believe the return will go back to the vendor and not LE. It may take longer.

LE gives the refund the moment you bring the item to UPS.

Scanned and refunded at the same time.

Just make sure you indicate you want the refund applied to the original payment. If you do not you will get a merchandise credit.

I find LE and LL bean are both good and both have items that are not so good.

        CORRECTION: It was LLBean!

I just got off the phone with their customer service and they were WONDERFUL. Issuing a credit today and will have UPS come out next week to pick up the blanket. Couldn't be better customer service and I apologize for my mistake.

I've always found both LL Bean and Land's End customer service to be excellent, but it's still nice to hear tthat they made it right on the first try.

I had an LLBean backpack that I received as a high school graduation gift. I used that thing for a good 30 years until the zipper broke. My local go-to shop for repairs said they couldn't fix it, so I contacted LLBean to ask if I could send it to them for repair. Nope, they couldn't repair it, so they gave me my choice from 5 different backpacks for a brand new one! I was amazed. I was prepared to just buy a new bag. They made me a customer for life.

@Shanus

I just bought I think 10 new supima cotton t-shirts from Lands End. They are now thinner fabric. I'm keeping them since they are still comfy on the skin.

@Nightowlz they used to be my go to t-shirts.  Last time I bought them I was disappointed and won't buy them anymore.

I'm always surprised at the number of comments posted, asking a question, but looking at the post, you have no idea who the question is being directed to.  A lot of people appear to assume we're all psychic!  lol
