I don't have an account, but, up until yesterday, I could view the public pages of several animal rescues I follow/support. A large white banner would pop asking me to log on and I'd just click "not now." That way, I could continue to view/read. The banner just stayed at the bottom of the page.
However, today, as soon as I selected the page, it asked me to register. Nothing regarding the rescue is visible now. I tried it for every single one and it was the same.
Obviously, something has changed, so I guess unless I register, I won't be able to see anything anymore.
Any info is welcome. Thanks.

Facebook did an upgrade of their program.
So now one has to have an account to see stuff.
The account doesn't have to be in your name.
It can be in your pet's name, and the great thing is, you never have to post anything to your wall!

It's probably due to the new changes. Register. You can register with a pseudo name millions upon millions of people do. Half the people on FB aren't registered as their rea seves.

My DD tried the fake name thing earlier. They want a cell number or email address.
A fake number doesn't work because they send you a message with a code or number to prove you say who you are.
They don't need my email address and I got rid of my cell phone.
I've lived without Facebook for years so they can kiss my foot.

I have seen people commenting about this all day. I will never sign up for Facebook - ever. When Mark Zuckerberg goes, maybe. Bad business decision.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 , you could create another E-mail address. I have several for different purposes. I have one in particular for all my online activities like shopping and paying bills. That way all their advertising goes to that E-mail rather than the one I use for friends and family. I did this over 20 years ago and I still don't get spam on my friends and family address.

although i have not had any issues, i think this might be a GOOD thing. if anyone wants to access information on facebook maybe they SHOULD have to have an account. it may keep some away that should not be on there anyways.
i have both personal accounts, groups, and a business account on facebook. any way that they can make it safer for all i am a fan of.

@sunshine45 - I agree. People seem to be clamoring to read stuff on Facebook but say there is no way they'd actually join Facebook to do it. Well, sometimes you can't have it both ways.
I've been on Facebook for years and years, with no issues. I love Facebook. It's not the enemy, LOL.
