It wasn't that simple or easy. Many were targeted and harassed no matter where they posted or what they posted.
I'm glad Q has decided to try to keep their forums civil. IMO, politics caused most of the rancor before. I'm completely in favor of politics not being allowed for discussion here. There are lots of other places to discuss that, if that's what people are looking for.

@Melania i agree! those were good discussions and lasted quite awhile.....it was nice to see it stay civil in that moment it was happening.
I agree. I've seen many interesting discussions that were a pleasure to read - very civil.
Most of the mods I've seen have tried to allow interesting discussions and have tried to remind everyone to stay on topic and be civil.
Personally, I much prefer this atmosphere compared to what the old forum had turned into.
i definitely agree with you @Lion!
while they are not perfect, these boards have a MUCH better atmosphere than the old boards.

I don't blame the moderators. There have been several very civil conversations on this board recently, civil until someone showed up and started complaining that others were breaking the rules. Not just one comment, but several comments challenging other posters who were nothing but civil.
Strangely enough, the threads were then taken down, moved, closed, whatever.
Therein lies a large part of the problem, imo.

It's the questionable and subjectivie heavy hand that has me close to losing total interest in not only the Forum, but the Blogs that the QVC hosts & vendors post here. Remember, they want us to maintain high interest and interaction with them and their Blogs, yet at times treat Forum posters in one general definition as troublemakers. Yes, there are folks here that like to antagonize and create a hostile environment, but I think they are few. The majority are thoughtful, considerate, intelligent people with a contribution to the discussion. Getting one's wrist slapped (poofing) for doing absolutely nothing against any standards, while reading vitriol that stays up for hours or days, only lends discontent, apathy, and a marked decrease in the ever-championed "customer experience" they seem to cherish. I am not challenging the moderators' powers or even asking for fairness (who said life is fair?). I am a champion of compliance, I'm just asking for consistency.
BUT......as has been said before......just how many actual CUSTOMERS post here. so many have said they no longer buy from qvc. that probably doesnt have to do with the forums at all. my guess is there are definitely less than 50% of actual customers posting here......probably a lot less.

It is definitely a lot more peaceful here, but I wish the mods would let civil discussions (threads) stand and remove the offensive posts.
Several posters have mentioned that there was a civil discussion about the debate.....but now it's gone. It would be nice to have read it.

About a month ago we all had a very civil conversation with regard to to the rebel flag being removed in South Carolina. With a few exceptions, most of us posted our thoughts, pro and con in a respectful manner. The thread stayed up for hours , in fact until the next day. Why it was removed is beyond me because the moderators certainly 'did their jobs' controlling the conversation.
Had some disgruntled poster(s) complained about its content? In that particular thread, it may have been who had started it rather than the subject content.

Hi Lotus!
Good example. Everyone was civil until someone uninvolved in the discussion showed up and complained several times that we were all breaking the rules. People had been very careful NOT to talk about politics.

i think its better and getting better by the week. sooner or later the wayward nics will return and some will never come back.
you see many threads retaining interest and readers, maybe they are't earth moving debates.
but, you know when VP was still up it was kind of a minefield and free for all. every so often the ranks would change and a new bunch would dominate! especially with the pot stir threads. iit is different now that the dust is settling. i do kind of miss a certain poster or two and their neverending fantasy sagas. sometimes i got nothing done, not wanting for a thread to get poofed while off busy doing real work!
