@Melania i agree! those were good discussions and lasted quite awhile.....it was nice to see it stay civil in that moment it was happening.
Is it still here?

Sorry, but I don't see how not allowing heated arguments leads to a loss of sales for QVC. With the number of posters whining about these boards that also say they never shop here, I have a hard time believing that the Q's bottom line would really be affected if these posters took their "discussions" somewhere else.

I believe the Mods & new rule/regs are pluggin' along just fine!
We can discuss most anything.
But it's when emotion is interjected into the conversation...that's when the wheels start flying off. I rarely "look to the left" (ie. Poster nic) before posting, but there members who base their opinions on the posters nic...no matter what that poster might have said. Again, emotion...not content.

<insert inteligent conversations> on current events.
I don't think QVC is going to go bankrupt due to loss of sales. But I do think that if someone is spending less time on the boards, it will affect sales in general.
I know that when I'm here on the boards, I always go see what has been presented for the day and that leads me to search for other items. I always check in to the Beauty and Jewelry boards to see who is recommending what, and sometimes I DO buy items based on these recommendations......or don't buy something based on them too.

Something in-between......like the old board here.....would be nice.
...............I agree....something in between would be so much better. I can remember how the kids in school very much disliked the teacher that kept everyone after class because of a couple troublemakers. No one wanted to get her for a teacher. That is what it promotes.
.
I went to parochial school and all the teachers were like that lay and otherwise. They didn't keep kids after school but everyone was punished a lot of the time. I did try to avoid 2 buzz words that might trigger something

I didn't take OP to mean she was never coming back...just as she said....with so much going on in our world...I also occassionally need something with a little more substance. There should be, in my opinion, some room here to do that. Some of us will stay but probably won't be here as much.

And just plain old new posters. Maybe as many as the new posters who seem to know everyone already.
It seems that posters who enjoy this "newly enforced civility" had every opportunity to not open, read,or participate in a thread. If they were offended or felt bullied they could ignore users or just move along. There was no need for forced civility when one was never forced to stay on a thread. Now its just a vanilla, bland heavily moderated chat room on most days.

............................In our case, kids were late for jobs after school or had to walk home in a blizzard and froze to death because they missed their ride. It was very "punishing" to the hard working kids who tried to do right. I get that exact same feeling here and it feels worse as an adult than it did in highschool!!!!!

You know the posters have brought this heavy handed enforcement onto themselves, don't you? If so many people had not taken advantage of the leniecy afforded on the old board, the present state of moderation could have been avoided. Even now, though, I see too much sniping, too much "my way or no way" thinking.
